In the aftermath of the 2007-2009 economic crisis, angel investors largely pulled back from funding startups. Taking a contrarian approach, the Fortify team chose to invest in startups when it was still uncommon to do so. Fortify's strategy centered on backing passionate teams with a vision to solve significant problems early in their journey. Through this unique approach, Fortify invested in and supported 36 portfolio companies, one quarter of which successfully exited, delivering outstanding returns. With the insights and experience gained from Fund I, the team is now ready to launch Fund II.
